has authored "The Spread of Behavior in an Online Social Network Experiment" ( Science, September 2010: Vol. 329 no. 5996 pp. 1194-1197 ). This article has received the 2011 Outstanding Article Publication Award from the Mathematical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association.

Daniel P. Carpenter is the recipient of the Midwest Political Science Association's 2011 Herbert Simon Award

Daniel P. Carpenter (Cohort 5 — Michigan Alumni List) 

is the recipient of the Midwest Political Science Association's 2011 Herbert Simon Award for his career scientific contributions to the study of public administration. In addition, he has been appointed to the National Academy of Sciences (Institute of Medicine) Committee on Scientific Standards for Studies on Reduced Risk Tobacco Products.

John H. Cawley was promoted to Professor

John Cawley (Cohort 6 — Michigan Alumni List) 

was promoted to Professor in the Departments  of Policy Analysis and Management And Economics at Cornell University. Dr. Cawley was also appointed a co-director of new Institute for Health Economics, Health Behaviors and Disparities at Cornell University starting July 1, 2011.
