Daniel
is Associate Professor of Health Policy and Social Medicine as well as Associate Director for Training and Development at the UCSF Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies. His research examines poverty, health, and the culture of medicine. Current studies include an examination of how patients get involved in first-in-human drug studies (National Cancer Institute), the dynamics of university-community partnerships for health, and the development of the patient centered medical home. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from UC Berkeley.
